Lake Eyre in Flood

South Australia’s parched far north has been transformed

into a flood area, attracting a vast proliferation of birds.

This natural wonder will continue for weeks as floods

from north-eastern Australia fill Lake Eyre.

Visit www.southaustralia.com for details.

Local tourism operators and visitors have spotted pelicans, swans and other water birds, indicating an abundance of fish. With locals confident water will remain in the lake for another four to eight weeks, time remains for people to travel to South Australia’s Flinders Ranges and Outback region to see the rare event for themselves.

Tours are available ex Adelaide, or visitors can take a scenic flight from various locations in the region.
