French Government - Marriage Law Update

Our buddy on Rangiroa, Gerard (Jerry) Garcia, the GM at Hotel Kia Ora, has provided us with a quick update for those wanting to get married in French Polynesia. He writes,....

"The French government has finally voted the marriage law regarding foreigners wanting to marry in French Polynesia. People will no longer have to reside one month here to get married. They can just go to any city hall and register. I don't have the full details yet but apparently, there is no minimum stay required anymore. Guests will be able to combine our Polynesian wedding with an official one at the city hall to make everything legitimate. Is that good or bad though?! :-)
